Remembering our First Lady, Dr. Lois Evans, December 1, 1949 - December 30, 2019

Thank you for loving the Evans family, and thank you for your ongoing prayers.

We absolutely adored our First Lady, Dr. Lois Evans. To our church family, she was a loyal friend, a devoted sister, a wise mentor, and a spiritual mother. She was our example of faithfulness and obedience to God’s Word and His ministry. Our collection of photos doesn’t come close to conveying the full impact Sister Evans had on the life of our ministry.

Feel free share your thoughts, prayers, and love below.
Thank you for your prayers.

As I’ve read through the resume here and in the program describing here life, it’s true photos nor words can’t contain what truly happened in the hours, days, moments of her life. The highs and the lows, and yet I saw to myself, what am exceptional woman! Truly a Prov. 31:10 woman! I can only ask the Lord of a small portion of this, to follow in such a beautiful example! Her life exhorts us to want to do so! I look forward to meeting you one day, favored woman of the Lord!

Sending condolences . Precious memories, oh how they linger. Your loved one is alive and well with Jesus. That nasty devil can never touch her again. She is FREE. I rejoice that she has ceased from her labor. In the midnight hour when your heart is aching because you miss her do like I did in an hour when I thought I was gonna lose my mind, Cry out to Jesus.

My condolences to the Evans’s. My fondest memory of Sis. Lois will always be her comment to my mom & dad when they first visited TX and OCBF. She hugged them and said “Thank you for trusting us with your daughter. We hope you visit again soon. “

I am a faithful follower of you and your ministry and this is where you have to pass God’s hardest test of faith. There is no doubt in my mind that you will pass in flying colors. The world needs you! Sister Lois is not dead…..she simply relocated, changed her residence after completing her purpose through her ministry. I love you pastor.

To Dr. Tony Evans and the Evans Family:
What excellent example of the Proverbs 31 woman lived out in the life of Dr. Lois Irene Evans. My sincere condolences and prayers are with you during this journey of life. I sincerely pray that God will continue to strengthen and comfort you as you on the legacy of Dr. Lois Irene Evans. I met Lois in October 1999 as my husband and I attended the conference from October 1999- October 2007 until his death. The pastors wives luncheon and workshops were one of team spirit, team building, sisterhood, full of knowledge and leadership skills. Lois Evans made each pastors wife feel special in that I felt that she knew what kind of calling we had on our lives and she was there to help us through all the challenges. Thank you Lois Evans for your dedication to the Pastors Wives sisterhood!

  • Cynthia Stephenson says:

(My encounter w/ Sis. Evans) I joined OCBF in 12/16. My 1st women’s function was the Brave Girls Brunch in Spring 2017. Not knowing anyone, I decided after the lunch break to change seats and move closer to the platform. I sat at the closest table to the front, and turned to my left to see I was sitting by Sis. Lois. She did not seem fazed as she looked up at me said hello, asked my name, and introduced herself. I started chatting about her (then new) great granddaughter, Ellie, because I followed Kariss on IG. She exchanged small talk with me, while continuing to read what she was looking at when I walked up. Other speakers began to sit down with us. After a few minutes I realized that there was a “Reserved ” sign right in the middle of the table, and I was not supposed to be there! I was immediately embarrassed and hurried to get up, apologizing to her as I did, and she was calmly sitting there, smiling at me as if it was normal for a a stranger to just plop down next to her. She was the epitome of grace and peaceful demeanor. I’m thankful that I am a recipient of her legacy and ministry.
