Proclaim a solemn assembly;

House of Prayer

As we enter into the week of our personal and corporate time of spiritual consecration in prayer and fasting, here are some facts about fasting.

  • Fasting

    Fasting is the deliberate abstinence from some form of physical gratification for a period of time in order to achieve a greater spiritual goal.

  • Abstinence

    It usually involves setting aside food, but we can fast from any physical appetite, including sex within marriage, television, Internet, social media, etc.

  • Prayer

    The idea is to devote the time we would ordinarily spend on these activities to prayer and worship before the Lord.
