Adult and Children Dance
The power of worship through movement comes through our Dance Ministry. Creative and beautifully crafted choreography delivers a moving message of divine praise, thanksgiving, brokenness, and deliverance to the people of God. This ministry supports Sunday morning praise and worship as well as other special events throughout the church.

The Adult Dance Ministry, Grace of God, comprises men and women age 18 and over who are trained and experienced in the art of dance. The goal of the ministry is to use this visually creative art form to bring forth the Word of God in congregational praise and worship. Interested individuals have the opportunity to sign up during ministry changeover in November and will be contacted regarding auditions. Rehearsals are every Monday at 7:00 p.m. Additional rehearsals are scheduled as needed.

The Children’s Dance Ministry,Glimpses of Heaven, brings God’s word to life through dance. They are a committed group of girls and boys in grades 5 and 6 who love to dance before the Lord and are dedicated to His service. Fellowship and devotionals are intricate parts of discipling these young dancers to impact their world for Christ. Parents and/or legal guardians of our dancers must be members of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship. Rehearsals are every 2nd, 3rd and 4th Saturday of the month. Additional rehearsals are scheduled as needed. New member orientations are held in January and September.

Adult and Youth Drama
Drama exists to prepare the hearts of the congregation to worship and hear biblical truths by addressing culturally relevant issues through acting, role plays and/or skits. Additionally, the drama team uses their talents to promote church events, as well as provide special seasonal presentations.

The Adult Drama Ministry is composed of a group of talented adults, actors and writers within the ministry who love the Lord and desire to use their gifts in the area of dramatic arts to minister to the congregation. Roles for skits are cast through auditions conducted by the adult drama coordinator or his/her designee. Members must be active in the drama ministry to be able to write, assist in directing, and audition for parts. Eligibility is determined by regular attendance at Bible studies, scheduled meetings, and ministry outreach events.

New members to Adult Drama are required to complete the orientation and be active in the ministry for a minimum of two months before being cast in a skit.

The Youth Drama Ministry is made up of a committed group of young people, grades 7-12, that serve the Lord by using their theatrical talents in skits and/or dramatic presentations. These presentations reflect and reinforce the Word of God in a relevant and creative format for youth and are performed before our church family.

Because these are teenagers, the drama presentations involve issues that affect decisions teens confront on a daily basis. Drama performances address sex, drugs, alcohol, dating and any other topics relevant to teens from a biblical orientation. It is important that parents or guardians are aware of this so that they are comfortable with what we are trying to accomplish.

Please note the time commitments involved in serving in the Youth Drama ministry:

  • The ministry meets every Tuesday from 6:30 to 8:30 pm
  • Bible Study is conducted the 1st Tuesday of the month.
  • Practices for skits are conducted the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Tuesdays as needed.

Costume Sewing Ministry
This talented group uses their God-given skills in sewing and crafts to create an assortment of costumes for drama and dance productions at OCBF. Additionally, these individuals serve our Outreach Ministry by making costumes for skits performed by the Missions department for their trips abroad.

Other services provided by the ministry include: mending small articles of clothing such as choir robes; maintaining existing costumes in good condition; and hosting a Charity Sewing Day for members with sewing skills to help make items needed in the pregnancy center’s incentive store – such as quilts, blankets, pillowcases, bibs, and more.

The ministry meets every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. and on other days as needed during productions.

Creative Tyme Ministry
Calling all artists! You can be a part of a group that uses their God-given gifts to share with others the finest of art, music, and literature that glorifies God, edifies the body of Christ, and evangelizes the masses! Our purpose is to provide an avenue for OCBF artists and writers to publish, exhibit, produce, and develop their talents. Additionally, our ministry offers spiritual, technical and personal support, helping our members to develop and use their gifts for the kingdom while we grow and experience God together.

We have various events throughout the year that include:

  • Off the Page/Open Mic Night
  • Gifted for His Glory seminars and workshops that offer opportunities for artistic development and address challenges in art forms
  • An Annual Art Expo that showcases artistic works and products of OCBF’s artists.

Off the Page/Open Mic Night is held four times a year. The event is open to all OCBF artists to perform in song, dance, mime, prose/spoken word and more. Artists, this is your opportunity to let your light shine for the glory of God. This ministry meets quarterly in the Worship Center Choir Room. Please consult the Events page calendar for dates.
