Youth Coordinator

Summary:  Plan, develop, and facilitate creative curriculum for the Youth Ministry by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
(Other duties may be assigned.)
  • Coordinate all creative art aspects of the youth ministry.
  • Develop ways to integrate media arts and technology into the youth ministry activities.
  • Plan and implement age appropriate ministry aids, interactive bible lessons, presentations, games, etc. to be utilized in youth services and special events.
  • Prepare and facilitate teaching material pertaining to Theology of the Arts.
  • Develop creative ways to increase youth involvement in all ministry programs, services, and special events throughout the ministry.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of programs and/or events and identify areas where improvement is needed.
  • Prepare reports regarding youth programs/events, costs, number of participants, and equipment and facility usage.
  • Provide administrative support as directed by the Director of Youth and Pastor of Christian Education.
  • Build and foster relationships with the youth by providing spiritual support and guidance as needed and stay abreast to the cultural and social trends that affect them.
  • Communicate with youth, parents, and organizations that represent youth to determine needs and interest of youth.
  • Recruit adequate parent volunteer supervision for events.
  • Facilitate a very positive Christian environment by serving as a role model to the youth.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree (B.A., B.S.); at least one to three years of experience and/or training that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Must be willing to complete the Christian Education Orientation and Core classes. Requires knowledge of Christian principles, youth ministry, and the policies and procedures of OCBF.
