Acts of Kindness
Acts of Kindness
Your kindness can give someone hope. It’s easy and doesn’t have to cost a lot or anything at all! The idea is to be a blessing to someone who cannot return the favor. Once you’ve completed your act of kindness, give them a Hope Card to share with them the love and the ultimate hope we have in Christ.

Here are some ideas:
  • Intentionally give a compliment/encouragement to someone having a tough time.
  • Write a note of appreciation to someone.
  • Send a postcard to a sick child.
  • Make a gift basket for a homebound person.
  • Call or visit a senior citizen to check on them.
  • Give a bottle of cold water to the mailman or garbage man (or other service professional) when they provide their service to you.
  • Cook an extra portion of dinner for someone in need.
  • Call or visit someone you haven’t seen in a while.
  • Offer to rake your neighbor’s yard.
  • Buy the groceries of a random person in the supermarket.
  • Pay for another diner’s dinner.

First of all! I was the recipient ! WOW! Well, I volunteered to pick up my boss and co-worker's lunch. I was waiting patiently, suddenly the hostess was standing next to me trying to get my attention, I was on the mobile, finally I noticed her standing there saying the gentlemen would like to pay for your lunch, mind you, I didn't have the funds to purchase a lunch for myself and I had brought my leftovers from home, I stood up to see who this person was, it was one of our members showing an act-of-kindness, he came over to give me a hug, I was soooo elated that I had been blessed, so I ordered lunch for myself to-go, but I was still so excited that someone would do this for me, I couldn't eat when I got back to the office, I shared what just happened to me! I finally calmed down, after I got home. This act-of-kindness made my week. Thank you Pastor and Mrs. Evans. Forever Love!

While at Subway off of Alta Mere Dr in Ft. Worth, a gentleman paid for my lunch. I was unaware of this until I arrived at the cash register and the attendant told me to pick out my drink and chips because the man ahead of me already paid. Prior to me getting to the cash register, the gentleman handed me a card that stated 'You've just experienced a random act of kindness!!!' and he thanked me for my service (I was in military uniform). Although somewhat embarrassing, I did not have my glasses to read the card until I got back to my office and saw that the card had 'Dr. Tony Evans, Senior Pastor' on it. After living in 13 states in this great country of ours, Texas is the only state that anyone purchased me anything because I am enlisted in our Military. If you know who this man is, please pass my humble thank you for his gracious act of kindness - it will be paid forward!
