Children’s Ministry Assistant

Summary: Assist the Children’s Ministry with the planning, development, and facilitation of creative curriculum for the Kingdom Zone by performing the following duties:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate and interact with the children through weekly Sunday bible presentations, games, and classroom activities (i.e.: praise and worship, story and lesson time, prayer, etc.).
  • Ensure that all lesson materials, resources, and lesson plans are copied and collated and distributed to teachers.
  • Plan and implement age appropriate activities with a variety of materials to develop interactive bible lessons, dramas, and skits.
  • Coordinate and setup the appropriate materials (props, tables, costumes, scripts, etc.) needed to produce quality presentations and programs for the children’s ministry.
  • Develop and implement ways to integrate media arts and technology into the children’s ministry activities.
  • Establish and maintain Christ-centered relationships with ministry staff, volunteers, children and parents.
  • Provide ministry support as directed by Children’s Ministry leadership.
  • Adhere to the policies and procedures in the OCBF Kids Ministry Worker’s Manual.
  • Foster a welcoming environment by greeting children and parents as they arrive for Children’s Ministry activities.
  • Ensure safety at all times.
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and at least one to three years related experience in a Christian environment preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
