Helpful Tips for a Job Fair

Prepare Your Résumé Before You Arrive

Have your résumé finished before you arrive. Need help with that? Email TECS for assistance.

Research the Companies

Look at what the company does and look for ways you can help their business. Look for ways you can add to their bottom line.

Prepare a Short ‘Infomercial’ about Yourself

An infomercial is a pitch no longer than 60 seconds that describes you professionally. Remember, emphasize how you fit the position and can help the company.

What to Bring

Résumés

Bring at least two copies for each company you plan to visit plus some additional copies in case there are additional companies you develop an interest in (or that are interested in you).

Professional Attire

Your first impression counts!  Be sure to wear professional business attire. You can visit The Turn Around Resale Store at 7125 S. Polk Street in Dallas for cost-saving deals on business attire.

Your “A” Game

Be at your best! Be positive, encouraging and confident as you present and promote yourself to companies. Remember, first impressions go a long way in getting you that job.
