Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship is hiring a keyboardist for our youth ministry who will provide skillful instrumental music support for church services and events by playing the keyboard as a member of the OCBF band or orchestra.
PLEASE NOTE: This is a casual, per-session position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
(Musicians may be assigned to another ministry area and other duties may be assigned)
- Provide skillful instrumental and vocal music support for church services and events including funerals.
- Play as scheduled for special events and/or seasonal programs.
- Prepare and participate in weekly rehearsals, meetings, and training, as needed.
- Study and rehearse music to learn and interpret scores and music charts.
- Plays from memory or by following score.
- Plays musical instrument as a soloist or as a member of the musical group.
- Play for choir/praise team rehearsals.
- Prepare personal instruments (cleaned, tuned, and ready to play).
- Available to play every first, second, third and fourth Sunday, and Wednesday nights.
Education and/or Experience
- Associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or
- Two years related experience and/or training; or
- Equivalent combination of education and experience;
- The successful candidate will have a trained ear and learn music by hearing; and
- Must have knowledge of rhythms and the ability to read music/chord charts and sight-read musical notes.
