Technology Teacher

The Technology Teacher provides engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction that prepares students to use technology confidently, creatively, responsibly, and safely. The teacher develops students’ digital literacy, computational thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and technology-application skills through hands-on, project-based learning. This position is responsible for technology curriculum, classroom instruction, student assessment, and the creation of meaningful learning experiences. The Technology Teacher collaborates with academic leaders and classroom teachers to reinforce curricular connections.

Core Responsibilities

Ministerial Responsibilities & Spiritual Care

All employees of Kingdom Collegiate Academy, an educational ministry of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship, serve in ministerial roles that contribute to the spiritual mission and ministry of the church. As such, employees are expected to model Christian values, support the spiritual development of others, and actively contribute to a Christ-centered work environment. This includes engaging in prayer and spiritual encouragement with co-workers and church members, participating in staff meetings and Bible studies, and demonstrating a personal commitment to ongoing spiritual growth.

Instruction and Student Learning

• Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned technology instruction appropriate to students’ grade levels and developmental needs.
• Teach technology concepts and skills that may include:
  • Digital literacy and digital citizenship
  • Keyboarding and productivity applications
  • Online research and information literacy
  • Coding and computational thinking
  • Robotics, engineering, and design-based learning
  • Multimedia creation and digital communication
  • Cybersecurity awareness and safe online behavior
  • Responsible and age-appropriate use of artificial intelligence
• Teach students how to protect personal information and make responsible decisions in digital environments.
• Help students understand the permanence and potential impact of their digital activity.
• Reinforce respectful, ethical, and Christ-centered communication in online spaces.
• Design hands-on and project-based learning experiences that strengthen creativity, curiosity, collaboration, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
• Help students develop the ability to select and use technology tools appropriately for learning, communication, and creative expression.
• Teach students to evaluate online information for accuracy, credibility, bias, and relevance.
• Reinforce responsible technology use, including privacy, copyright, intellectual property, academic integrity, and respectful online conduct.
• Differentiate instruction to address students’ varying readiness levels, learning needs, and interests.
• Provide appropriate enrichment, intervention, and instructional support.
• Establish and maintain a safe, organized, inclusive, and Christ-centered learning environment.
• Apply effective classroom-management practices and communicate clear expectations for student behavior and technology use.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and academic leaders to identify opportunities for students to apply technology skills across subject areas.

Curriculum Planning and Development

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve a coherent technology curriculum aligned with the school’s academic goals and applicable educational standards.
• Create lesson plans, instructional materials, assignments, projects, and assessments that support defined student-learning outcomes.
• Develop a logical progression of technology knowledge and skills across assigned grade levels.
• Identify age-appropriate instructional topics, learning activities, and educational resources for the technology curriculum.
• Integrate relevant developments in technology, computer science, digital citizenship, and artificial intelligence into the curriculum.
• Ensure that technology instruction emphasizes purposeful application, ethical decision-making, and responsible use.
• Review student-learning outcomes and classroom evidence to evaluate and improve curriculum effectiveness.
• Maintain organized curriculum maps, unit plans, instructional resources, and assessment materials.
• Recommend instructional resources to academic leadership based on curricular value and student-learning needs.

Student Assessment and Progress

• Develop and administer appropriate formative and summative assessments.
• Evaluate students’ understanding, skill development, creativity, problem-solving, and application of technology concepts.
• Provide students with timely, constructive, and developmentally appropriate feedback.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, assignments, progress, and achievement.
• Use assessment results and classroom observations to adjust instruction and provide additional support or enrichment.
• Prepare progress reports, report-card information, and other required academic documentation.

Professional and Organizational Responsibilities

• Build positive and professional relationships with students, parents, colleagues, school leaders, volunteers, and church ministries.
• Communicate the purpose, goals, and learning outcomes of the technology program to students, parents, and school personnel.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, school events, parent conferences, and assigned student-supervision responsibilities.
• Pursue ongoing professional learning in technology education, instructional practices, digital citizenship, computer science, and emerging educational tools.
• Remain informed about developments that may affect technology curriculum and student learning.
• Protect confidential student, family, employee, and organizational information.

Professional Responsibilities

• Attend and participate in faculty meetings, parent meetings, professional development, in-service trainings, devotionals, committees, and school-sponsored events as required.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, and administration to support instructional alignment, student success, school culture, and continuous improvement.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding student, family, personnel, and school matters.
• Demonstrate professionalism, preparedness, flexibility, and a commitment to continuous growth as an educator and ministry leader.
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of the mission and operations of Kingdom Collegiate Academy.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in education, instructional technology, computer science, educational technology, or a related field.
• Teaching certification or other applicable educator credential preferred.
• Experience teaching technology, computer science, digital literacy, STEM, or a related subject in a school or youth-learning environment.
• Demonstrated ability to develop engaging, age-appropriate instruction.
• Working knowledge of technology concepts, digital-learning tools, productivity applications, and classroom technology.
• Understanding of digital citizenship, online safety, student-data privacy, academic integrity, and responsible technology use.
• Ability to explain technical and digital concepts clearly to students with varying levels of knowledge and experience.
• Strong lesson-planning, classroom-management, communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Ability to assess student learning and use results to improve instruction.
