Department: Kingdom Collegiate Academy (KCA)
The Director of Student and Family Engagement is responsible for cultivating a vibrant, welcoming, and inclusive school community by building meaningful connections between students, families, faculty, and staff. The Director will oversee the Academy’s admission and enrollment functions, lead the development of a Student and Family Ambassador Program, manage the Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO), and coordinate school-wide events that celebrate and strengthen our Kingdom Collegiate community.
Core Responsibilities
Administration & Enrollment
- Oversee all aspects of the student admission and enrollment process from inquiry through matriculation.
- Oversee the Office of Admissions
- Oversee the Office of Enrollment Management
- Develop and implement strategic recruitment initiatives to meet annual enrollment targets and grow the school’s student population.
- Coordinate prospective family tours, open house events, and information sessions to showcase the Academy’s mission and programs.
- Maintain accurate enrollment data, prepare reports for school leadership, and ensure timely communication with prospective and incoming families.
- Collaborate with academic leadership to ensure smooth student transitions and onboarding experiences for new students and families.
- Manage enrollment software and databases, ensuring data integrity and compliance with applicable regulations.
Student and Family Ambassador Program
- Design, launch, and continuously develop a formal Student and Family Ambassador Program that empowers community members to serve as representatives and advocates for Kingdom Collegiate Academy.
- Recruit, train, and support student and family ambassadors through structured orientation and ongoing professional development opportunities.
- Coordinate ambassador participation in recruitment events, school tours, open houses, and community outreach activities.
- Cultivate a culture of belonging and pride by recognizing ambassadors’ contributions and celebrating their impact on the school community.
- Establish and maintain clear program guidelines, expectations, and evaluation processes for all ambassadors.
Parent-Teacher Organization
- Serve as the primary administrative liaison between the Academy’s leadership team and the Parent-Teacher Organization.
- Support the PTO in planning, organizing, and executing meetings, volunteer initiatives, and fundraising efforts.
- Facilitate effective communication between the PTO and school administration, ensuring alignment with the Academy’s mission and goals.
- Provide guidance and resources to strengthen PTO capacity and encourage broad family participation.
- Identify and address barriers to family engagement, developing targeted strategies to reach diverse families across the school community.
School-Wide Events & Community Building
- Plan, coordinate, and execute signature school-wide events including the annual Back-to-School Fair, end-of-year social gathering, and other community celebrations.
- Manage all aspects of event planning, including logistics, vendor coordination, volunteer management, budgeting, and post-event evaluation.
- Partner with faculty, staff, students, and families to create engaging, inclusive, and memorable experiences that reflect the Academy’s values.
- Develop an annual event calendar in collaboration with school leadership, ensuring events are strategically timed and well-communicated to the community.
- Seek opportunities to recognize student and family milestones, cultural celebrations, and community achievements through purposeful programming.
General Leadership & Administration
- Represent the Department of Student and Family Engagement in school leadership team meetings and planning discussions.
- Develop, manage, and monitor the department budget, ensuring responsible and efficient use of resources.
- Work alongside the Marketing Director to leverage social media, newsletters, and other communications platforms to promote family engagement initiatives and school events.
- Collect and analyze community feedback to continuously assess and improve programs and engagement strategies.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School in support of the school’s mission.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree required in Education, Communications, Public Relations, Nonprofit Management, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of progressive experience in school administration, community engagement, enrollment management, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated success in program development, event coordination, and stakeholder relationship management.
- Experience working in a K–12 educational setting strongly preferred; experience with charter, private, or faith-based schools is a plus.
Additional Skills & Competencies
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse families, students, and staff.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in enrollment management systems, student information systems (SIS), and Microsoft Office/Google Suite.
- Creative thinker with the ability to develop innovative programs that resonate with a diverse school community.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive family engagement practices.
- Bilingual proficiency is a plus and may be needed based on the school’s community demographics.
