Department: Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship (OCBF)

The Director of Hospitality provides leadership and oversight of OCBF’s hospitality and guest engagement environments, ensuring that every individual who enters the church feels known, loved, valued, spiritually developed, and commissioned. This role leads the volunteer ministries responsible for creating a warm, organized, and spiritually encouraging experience across worship services, events, and ministry gatherings. This role requires a highly relational and organized leader who can develop people, coordinate large volunteer teams, and create environments that reflect the mission, values, and culture of the ministry.

Core Responsibilities

Ministerial Responsibilities & Spiritual Care

  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to Jesus Christ and alignment with the philosophy, ministry, and vision of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship.
  • Support the spiritual, social, emotional, and physical well-being of the church family through prayer, presence, and ministry engagement.
  • Provide prayer, spiritual assistance, and ministerial support to coworkers and individuals encountered in the course of work.
  • Communicate and model biblical principles during staff meetings, ministry activities, and church events.
  • Model a lifestyle consistent with biblical principles and the church’s core values.
  • Engage in ongoing spiritual discipleship while faithfully carrying out essential job responsibilities in support of the church’s mission to disciple believers and impact the world.

Guest Experience & Hospitality Leadership

  • Lead and oversee the overall hospitality and guest experience strategy for worship services, ministry activities, and special events
  • Develop an integrated hospitality framework that aligns all guest-facing ministries to deliver a seamless, consistent, and welcoming experience across the church.
  • Evaluate and improve the guest journey from arrival through departure, identifying opportunities to strengthen engagement and connection
  • Ensure hospitality ministries are appropriately staffed and prepared for worship services, conferences, funerals, weddings, and church-wide events
  • Coordinate guest flow, seating support, special accommodations, and hospitality logistics during services and events
  • Partner with ministry leaders and operations teams to support a seamless worship and event experience

Volunteer Ministry Oversight

  • Provide leadership and direction for the following volunteer ministries: Ushers, Greeters, Ambassadors, Hospitality Teams, and Deaf Ministry
  • Recruit, train, onboard, schedule, and develop volunteers and volunteer leaders
  • Build strong volunteer leadership structures that support communication, accountability, and sustainability
  • Conduct regular ministry meetings, leadership development sessions, and spiritual encouragement opportunities for volunteers
  • Foster a culture of joy, unity, engagement, and servant leadership among volunteer teams

Systems, Stewardship & Collaboration

  • Develop and maintain systems, processes, and best practices for volunteer coordination and hospitality operations
  • Monitor ministry effectiveness and volunteer engagement metrics
  • Steward ministry budgets, resources, and supplies responsibly
  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve efficiency, communication, and guest engagement
  • Collaborate with ministry leaders to ensure hospitality support aligns with ministry objectives and church priorities

Team Leadership

  • Lead, develop, and support team members through coaching, clear expectations, and ongoing professional development.
  • Lead with a shepherd’s heart, demonstrating care for people while driving clarity, structure, and results.
  • Provide regular feedback, performance guidance, and recognition to promote engagement and continuous growth.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, unity, and shared ownership across ministries.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 5+ years of ministry leadership, hospitality leadership, volunteer management, or guest experience leadership experience
  • Experience leading large volunteer teams preferred
  • Experience in church operations or ministry environments strongly preferred
  • Strong leadership and team development skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
  • High level of organization and operational coordination
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and ministry environments simultaneously
