Department: Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship (OCBF)

Assist customers with the processing of transactions, the selection of products and receive and stock merchandise.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • The professional staff at Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship have distinct roles that directly or indirectly affect thespiritual development of church members. Each employee must model Christian values in dailyinteractions and uphold the church’s core values. Minister and pray with co-workers, promote a unifiedand spiritually enriching work environment with a servant attitude while supporting the church and churchmembers of the community. Must demonstrate a commitment to the church’s mission and values in allaspects of the role by engaging in continuous spiritual growth and development through participation inchurch activities and personal discipleship. You must be actively involved in staff meetings, Bible studies,and support the church’s mission to influence and serve the broader community through activeinvolvement in church functions while performing the essential job requirements.
  • Provide a friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging all customers, maintainingoutstanding standards, and maintain solid product knowledge along with all other components of customerservice.
  • Answer customer’s questions concerning location, price, and use of merchandise.
  • Accurately and efficiently complete all sales transactions; total price and tax on merchandise purchased bycustomer to determine bill; accept payment and make change.
  • Remove and record amount of cash in register at end of shift.
  • Calculate sale discount to determine price.
  • Assist in processing and replenishing merchandise; participate in receiving and monitoring floor stock.
  • Stock shelves, counters, and tables with merchandise and maintain their cleanliness.
  • Set up advertising displays or arranges merchandise on counters or tables to promote sales.
  • Stamp, mark, or tag price on merchandise.
  • Obtain merchandise requested by customer or receive merchandise selected by customer.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with computerized inventory system and Point of Sale is required. Must be able to work most Sundays and available during the week.

Members are asked to commit to:

  • Consciously pursuing spiritual growth by participating in the vital experience of the church (Education, Fellowship, Outreach and Worship).
  • Faithfully give at least 10% of their income to the ministry of OCBF.
  • Faithfully serve in one of the ministries of the church in a volunteer capacity.
  • Agree to read and function under the guidelines and authority of the Church Constitution and By-Laws.
