Department: Kingdom Collegiate Academy (KCA)
The Advanced Academic & STEM Teacher is responsible for supporting rigorous STEM instruction and advanced academic enrichment, enabling students in grades 3-6 to think deeply, solve complex problems, and pursue academic excellence within a Christ-centered environment.
Core Responsibilities
STEM Instruction
- Work with students in grades 3-6 to plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned STEM lessons integrating science, technology, engineering, and mathematics across grade levels.
- Design and facilitate hands-on, inquiry-based, and project-based learning experiences that challenge advanced learners.
- Introduce students to coding, robotics, engineering design challenges, and applied mathematics.
- Use data and formative assessments to differentiate instruction and meet students at their individual readiness levels.
- Incorporate real-world problem-solving to develop students’ analytical and collaborative skills.
- Maintain a dynamic, organized STEM classroom environment with proper management of materials and technology tools.
Advanced Academic Elective Class
- Teach a designated Advanced Academic elective course focused on higher-order thinking, creative problem-solving, and academic enrichment.
- Develop and implement a differentiated curriculum that extends beyond grade-level standards to meet the intellectual needs of identified Gifted and Talented students.
- Incorporate activities rooted in Bloom’s Taxonomy, Socratic seminars, research-based projects, and student-led inquiry.
- Foster skills such as self-directed learning, academic risk-taking, intellectual curiosity, and collaborative discourse.
- Maintain documentation of student progress and communicate regularly with parents and administration regarding student development.
Collaboration & School Community
- Partner with general education teachers to identify advanced learners and recommend appropriate differentiation strategies.
- Participate in grade-level and faculty meetings, professional learning communities (PLCs), and school-wide professional development.
- Assist in coordinating STEM events such as science fairs, math competitions, coding showcases, and academic enrichment activities.
- Communicate proactively with parents regarding student progress, class projects, and upcoming events.
- Uphold and model Kingdom Collegiate Academy’s Christian values and mission in all professional interactions.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, STEM field, or related discipline (required).
- Master’s degree in Gifted Education, STEM Education, or related field (preferred).
- Valid Texas teaching certification or eligibility to obtain certification.
- Gifted and Talented certification or willingness to obtain within the first year of employment.
- Demonstrated experience teaching or working with advanced/gifted learners in an elementary or middle school setting.
- Strong knowledge of STEM instructional practices, project-based learning, and differentiated instruction.
- Experience teaching coding, robotics, or engineering design to elementary/middle school students.
- Excellent classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.

- Ability to engage and inspire students with diverse learning profiles, particularly high-ability learners.
- Strong critical and creative thinking skills with the ability to model these skills for students.
- Flexibility and adaptability in curriculum design and instructional delivery.
- Proficiency with educational technology, including Google Workspace, LMS platforms, and STEM tools.
