Department: Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship (OCBF)

Under general supervision, perform a variety of complex and specialized human resources duties relating to payroll, leaves, and benefits.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Employees are expected to commit to Christ and the philosophy, ministry, and vision of OCBF and help meet the church family’s spiritual, social, emotional, and physical needs. This position provides prayer, spiritual assistance, and ministerial support to co-workers and others they contact. This includes but is not limited to being available to pray with employees, leading and participating in bible study with team members, conveying Biblical principles during staff meetings and church activities, and knowing and ensuring that the church’s mission and vision are integrated into all aspects of the department’s task. As the Employee Handbook outlines, all staff must live a life that models the church’s core values. They must be involved in spiritual discipleship while performing the essential job requirements to further the church’s mission of discipling the church and impacting the world.
  • Manages conference room appointments.
  • Answer telephones, screen calls, and direct them. Serve visitors by greeting, welcoming, and directing them appropriately with a positive and helpful attitude. Interact with clients, vendors, and visitors.
  • Prepare for all meetings, including—but not limited to—monthly executive meetings, conferences, retreats, and presentations, by scheduling locations, gathering reports, preparing agendas and minutes, and preparing rooms.
  • Arrange programs, events, presentations, and training by arranging for facilities and caterers, issuing information or invitations, coordinating speakers, and event setup.
  • Maintain all personnel files by keeping them current at all times, confidential, and secured when not in use, and purge and shred them according to the annual schedule.
  • Record and maintain a tracker and submit monthly reports, including, but not limited to, evaluations, job descriptions, acknowledgment forms, and purge log.
  • Coordinate and direct office services, such as housekeeping, office equipment maintenance, and other department services.
  • Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine the inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders, and verifying supplies’ receipts.
  • Process all vouchers for Human Resources services and submit for payment.
  • Prepare and modify documents, including correspondence, reports, forms, contracts, memos, and emails.
  • Assist with clerical duties relating to employment materials, scheduling interviews, performing pre-employment screening, assessments, etc.
  • Prepare and maintain HR policies and procedures manuals, including, but not limited to, handbooks, SOPs, and benefits summaries.
  • Conduct research, compile data, and prepare reports and other documentation for consideration and presentations as directed by the Executive HR Director.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational classes, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networks.
  • Maintain employee communication boards and announcements.
  • Open, sort, and distribute incoming correspondence, including faxes and emails; sign for and distribute UPS/FedEx or similarly delivered packages.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Associate’s degree in a related field; three to five years related experience and training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate will know payroll principles, practices, regulations, and procedures, and possess skills in evaluating and analyzing both activities. PHR is helpful.
