The Before & After School Assistant supports the Extended Day Program Supervisor in providing a safe, structured, and engaging environment for students before and after the regular school day. This position assists with student supervision, enrichment activities, tutoring, and daily program operations while helping ensure that activities align with the standards, values, and vision of Kingdom Collegiate Academy.

Core Responsibilities

Ministerial Responsibilities & Spiritual Care

All employees of Kingdom Collegiate Academy, an educational ministry of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship, serve in ministerial roles that contribute to the spiritual mission and ministry of the church. As such, employees are expected to model Christian values, support the spiritual development of others, and actively contribute to a Christ-centered work environment. This includes engaging in prayer and spiritual encouragement with co-workers and church members, participating in staff meetings and Bible studies, and demonstrating a personal commitment to ongoing spiritual growth.

Student Supervision & Enrichment Support

  • Assist with the preparation of materials, supplies, and equipment for Extended Day activities and learning experiences.
  • Lead small-group activities as assigned and planned by the Extended Day Supervisor, creating an environment where students are actively engaged in meaningful experiences.
  • Assist the Extended Day Supervisor in adapting activities and learning experiences to support students with diverse backgrounds, learning styles, abilities, and needs.
  • Support effective and orderly classroom and activity flow according to established daily schedules and special programming.
  • Provide academic assistance and tutoring to students as needed.
  • Supervise students in classrooms, the gymnasium, outdoor play areas, hallways, restrooms, and other designated spaces.
  • Help ensure planned activities are carried out safely, effectively, and in accordance with the established program schedule.
  • Reinforce appropriate student behavior and program expectations using consistent, age-appropriate guidance.

Before & After School Program Support

  • Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and welcoming environment for students.
  • Distribute provided snacks and assist with other routine student needs during program hours.
  • Follow established safety and security procedures, report potentially unsafe conditions, and use equipment and materials appropriately.
  • Promptly communicate concerns involving students, parents, staff, facilities, or program operations to the Extended Day Supervisor or appropriate administrator.
  • Work collaboratively with the Extended Day Program Supervisor and other team members and seek guidance when needed.
  • Demonstrate dependability by following established procedures and instructions, responding appropriately to supervisory direction, using program time effectively, and accepting responsibility for assigned duties.
  • Represent Kingdom Collegiate Academy professionally and demonstrate respect, patience, good judgment, and composure when interacting with students, families, and colleagues.
  • Assist with student arrival, dismissal, transitions, and other routine Extended Day Program procedures as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 or more years of related experience working with children in a school, childcare, youth program, ministry, or similar environment preferred.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification preferred; must be able to obtain and maintain certification within a designated timeframe upon hire.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of appropriate child supervision practices.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities with strong organization and follow-through.
  • Successful completion of background check and any state-required clearances.
  • Discretion and sound judgment when handling sensitive student and family information.
  • Dependable and attentive, with the ability to maintain appropriate student supervision in active environments.
  • Ability to follow established schedules, procedures, activity plans, and supervisory direction while responding appropriately to student needs.
