The Holy Scriptures – Article 1
In a world where reality can be digitally altered, people struggle to distinguish what is fabricated from what is real. The truth seems malleable. For believers, the truth rests on a solid foundation because we know the Bible is the inerrant, inspired, sufficient, and authoritative Word of God. It is our unchanging source for practical instruction in faith and conduct.
Scripture is trustworthy because it is “God-breathed” (2 Timothy 3:16-17). God inspired imperfect human authors to write His perfect Word, demonstrating that human limitation cannot stop God’s limitless power. Jesus validated Scripture by fulfilling prophecies in every aspect of His sinless life (Matthew 5:17; Hebrews 4:15). He proved He was sent by God through the miracles He performed. Scripture also provides proof of divine authorship through its miraculous composition across forty authors with different backgrounds, fifteen hundred years, three continents, and three languages. It is the most unique, unified, accurate, verifiable, and prophetic book ever written.
In light of this, we as believers are called to build our lives upon God’s Word, allowing it to teach, correct, train, encourage, protect, and sustain us. Fathers need to lead and instruct their families by applying God’s truth to their children’s struggles with sin. Christians need to measure everything against the standard of God’s Word, and not be taken in by the lies of the world. In the same way that God used sinful people to transcribe and transmit His Word, He can use you today to share the truth and shine His light into the darkness. Trust God’s promises, and allow Scripture to transform you into the person God designed you to be.

Renew Your Mind
For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
– Hebrews 4:12
