Department: Kingdom Collegiate Academy (KCA)

The 7th & 8th grade Science Teacher is responsible for creating a Christ-centered learning environment that inspires students to explore, understand, and appreciate the natural world through the lens of biblical truth. This role delivers engaging, standards-aligned science instruction while fostering curiosity, critical thinking, scientific inquiry, and academic growth. The teacher partners with families, colleagues, and school leadership to support the spiritual, intellectual, social, and emotional development of
students.

Core Responsibilities

Ministerial Responsibilities & Spiritual Care

All employees of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship serve in a ministerial role that contributes to the spiritual mission and ministry of the church. As such, employees are expected to model Christian values, support the spiritual development of others, and actively contribute to a Christ-centered work environment. This includes engaging in prayer and spiritual encouragement, participating in staff meetings and Bible studies, and demonstrating a personal commitment to ongoing spiritual growth.

Instruction & Student Learning

  • Plan and deliver engaging science instruction aligned with established standards, school curriculum, and academic expectations.
  • Teach core middle school science concepts, including life science, earth and space science, physical science, and scientific inquiry.
  • Design hands-on experiments, laboratory experiences, demonstrations, and project-based learning activities that encourage exploration and discovery.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and abilities of students.
  • Utilize data, assessments, and observations to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Foster critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and analytical skills through meaningful learning experiences.
  • Integrate technology and innovative instructional strategies to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes.

Classroom Leadership & Student Development

  • Establish and maintain a positive, structured, and engaging classroom environment that promotes respect, responsibility, and academic excellence.
  • Implement effective classroom management practices that encourage student accountability and character development.
  • Support the social, emotional, and spiritual growth of students through discipleship, encouragement, and relationship building.
  • Create a classroom culture where students feel known, loved, valued, spiritually developed, and commissioned.

Faith Integration

  • Integrate biblical principles and a Christian worldview into science instruction and classroom interactions.
  • Encourage students to recognize God’s creativity, order, and design through the study of science.
  • Serve as a Christian role model by demonstrating spiritual maturity, integrity, and servant leadership.
  • Participate in school spiritual development activities, including chapel services, prayer, devotionals, and faith-based initiatives.

Assessment & Academic Excellence

  • Develop and administer assessments that accurately measure student understanding and growth.
  • Maintain accurate records of grades, attendance, and student performance.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents regarding academic progress.
  • Identify students needing additional academic support and collaborate with appropriate staff to develop intervention strategies.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, faculty, and staff.
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress, achievements, and concerns.
  • Collaborate with grade-level teams, administrators, and support staff to enhance student success.
  • Participate actively in faculty meetings, professional development, and KCA-wide initiatives.

School & Community Engagement

  • Support school programs, activities, field trips, and extracurricular events as assigned.
  • Contribute positively to the mission, culture, and strategic goals of the school.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or school leadership

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Education, or a related field required.
  • Valid state teaching certification or ability to obtain certification preferred.
  • Previous middle school teaching experience preferred.
  • Experience teaching science at the secondary or middle school level preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of middle school science curriculum and instructional best practices.
  • Ability to create engaging, hands-on learning experiences.
  • Excellent classroom management and student engagement skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
