Frequently Asked Questions

Who should take a Bible Institute class?

All Christians interested in deepening their walk with God and becoming more equipped to live out God’s Kingdom Agenda.

Is there a fee for classes?

There is NO registration fee for OCBF members, including those who are currently going through the pre-membership process, or have joined the church within the last six months. If you are not a member of OCBF, there is a $25 registration fee per course. Some classes have additional fees for materials. You can pay for your class and materials during the first class meeting. You may pay by cash or check (make your check payable to Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship).

Do I need books or other materials?

Only if your class has a “required book” listed in the class description. These books are available at the OCBF bookstore two weeks before classes begin. Although they may be available at most Christian bookstores, we ask that you support OCBF and purchase your books at our bookstore.

Is there a deadline to register?

The last day to register for a class is the first week of your class. When registering, keep in mind that our classes have a limit of 25 people per class, and are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Can I receive college credit for your courses?

Unfortunately, you cannot receive college credit for the classes you have taken at this time. However, if you need a letter of recommendation or copy of your class records, please contact the Pastor of Christian Education.

How do I register for the OCBF CORE Certificate Program?

Once you have signed up for one or more of the CORE classes, you can contact the Bible Institute and let them know you want to be in the program. We will review your records, looking to see what classes you have completed and then inform you of the classes you will need to complete.

How do I get into the OCBF Leadership Program?

The Bible Institute does not grant entrance into the Leadership Program, however, you must complete the CORE Certificate Program to become eligible for Leadership. Upon completing the CORE Certificate Program, you must then be recommended by your ministry leader and pastor to enter the Leadership Program.

How do I get into the OCBF Ministers in Training (M.I.T.) Program?

The Bible Institute does not grant entrance into the Ministers Training Program, however, you must complete the CORE Certificate Program to become eligible for the training.
