Arts Institute Overview

The OCBF Arts Institute (OAI) is a ministry of the church whereby children, youth and adults are taught how to play a musical instrument or sing.  The fundamentals of sight-reading music, the discipline of regular practice, and the art of music performance are taught by instructors skilled in these areas.  Daily devotions precede each class.  The lessons are offered to both members of OCBF and non-members.  The purpose is to share the God-given gift of music while being a spiritual mentor to the students.

The training helps school-age students succeed in their fine arts classes at school.  Students learn to play classical, sacred and popular music for performance, enjoyment, and sharing with others.  Students who desire to go further are prepared to play a musical instrument for their church.  Some adult students simply desire to fulfill a life-long desire to play a musical instrument.  Parents of young children are able to expose their child to an instrument for a semester to assess the level of interest before making a large investment.

And we do it all in a loving, Christian environment where we seek to make an impact for the Kingdom.
