Bookstore Sales Clerk - Part-Time

Job Summary: (Up to 20 Hours Per Week) Perform a variety of routine tasks relating to merchandise sold at the OCBF Bookstore.

Job Functions

  • Set up advertising display and arrange merchandise on counters or tables to promote sales.
  • Answer customer questions concerning location, price, and use of merchandise.
  • Assist in processing and replenishing merchandise; participate in receiving and monitoring floor stock.

Education/Experience

High school diploma or equivalent; or one to three months related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with computerized inventory system and Point of Sale is required. The successful candidate will be customer oriented and available to work most Saturday and Sundays and various hours during the week.

Spiritual Commitment

Childcare Worker

Job Summary:  Provide proper care and nurturing to babies through sixth graders (by ministry request) Mother’s Day Out, evening hours during the week, Saturday, Sunday afternoons, church services and special events.

 Job Functions:

  • Come prepared with lesson plans, care for the day.  Have time well planned and structured to meet the needs of the children being served.
  • Shares in cooperative planning and evaluation of each child within their care.
  • Participate and attend childcare staff meetings, children’s ministry, any other staff growth, and development training.
  • Be faithful to the hours scheduled and in case of an emergency or illness notify the child care/nursery coordinator in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for safety and health needs of the at all times. 

Education/Experience

High school diploma or equivalent; or one to three months related experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Summary: Accurately and efficiently cook meats, fish, vegetables, soups and other hot food products as well as prepare and portion food products prior to cooking. Also perform other duties in the areas of food and final plate preparation including plating and garnishing of cooked items and preparing appropriate garnishes for all hot menu item plates.

Job Functions

  • Prepares a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items for cooking in broilers, ovens, grills, fryers and a variety of other kitchen appliances.
  • Assumes 100% responsibility for quality of products served.
  • Knows and complies consistently with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules, policies and procedures.
  • Portions food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications.
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary work station area including shelves and cooking equipment.
  • Prepares items for broiling, grilling, frying, sautéing, or other cooking methods by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning and/or marinating.
  • Handles, stores, and rotates all products properly.
  • Prepare and set up for catered events such as meetings, conferences, weddings, funerals, etc.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); a minimum of 2 years of experience in kitchen preparation and cook. The successful candidate will be flexible and available to work outside regular schedule for catered events.

Custodian

Job Summary: Keep church campus and other church properties in a clean and orderly condition by performing the following duties:

Job Function

  • Clean, dust, and wipe furniture; empty/clean wastebaskets and trash containers; replace light bulbs; refill restroom dispensers.
  • Assist with the setup of facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, events, etc.
  • Strip, clean, buff and apply floor sealer and floor finish to hard surface floors, vacuum and shampoo carpets.
  • Perform cleaning and related activities such as removing snow/ice or debris from sidewalks and stairs in areas within sixteen feet of buildings using hand-operated tools or small power equipment.

Education/Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Employment Coordinator

Job Summary

Recruits, researches, interviews, screens, and refers job candidates for job openings.

Job Functions

  • Match applicant qualifications with job specifications; refer qualified applicants to prospective hiring managers within the ministry.
  • Recruit through attendance at job fairs, career days, advertising methods, etc., to ensure an adequate pool of qualified applicants. Coordinate participation in, sets up display, and works at job fairs.
  • Administer pre-employment assessments.
  • Develop and maintain an internship program.
  • Writes job descriptions or reviews and edits job descriptions written by others.
  • Develops recruitment programs, budgets, and collateral to attract applicants and to fill specific job openings by creating brochures about the organization and its opportunities.
  • Develops and maintain network of contacts to help identify and source qualified candidates.
  • Makes public presentations at schools, organizations, and job fairs regarding the organization and opportunities.
  • Plans and conducts new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals.
  • Prepare a quarterly performance work plan of all accomplishments.
  • Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.

Education/Experience

Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Pre-School Teacher Assistant

Job Summary: Perform any combination of following instructional tasks in the classroom to assist teachers with providing a caring and supportive environment to children 18 months to 4 years-old by performing the following duties:  

Job Functions

  • Assist teachers with curriculum planning, supervision, and teaching of children in a classroom setting.
  • Assist in presenting and reinforcing learning concepts.
  • Provide a safe and stimulating educational environment.
  • Plan, prepare, and/or develop various teaching aides for use in the classroom, including activity sheets, drawings, and handouts.
  • Present subject matter to children, under the guidance of a teacher, utilizing a variety of methods including stories, discussions, and role-playing.
